Powder Coating Dust Collection System and Industrial Dust Collectors
Air quality is an essential aspect of any shop; which, makes having a high-quality dust collection system critical. Many fields beyond the automotive arena utilize dust collecting systems, including woodworking, building, manufacturing, and industrial areas.
Our dust collecting system is designed with quality air control in mind, along with the ability to salvage excess coating material. Our equipment is industrial grade and built with high-precision fiberoptic laser technology. We use CNC controlled fabrication to make sure each panel has optimal alignment. Since we use a CNC fabrication, our dust collecting systems are easy to install and will offer you years of exceptional performance.
Why do you need a dust collecting system?
If you don’t have a dust collecting system, you could be putting your employees’ health at risk by exposing them to hazardous materials such as toxic fumes and particles.
The exposure to these materials can have damaging and long term effects on your employees. According to the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH), OSHA, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), exposure to hazardous materials can have detrimental effects on your employees and their families. The materials can cause lung damage, nervous system damage, eye irritation, nasal dryness/congestion, prolonged colds, skin irradiation, frequent headaches, and asthma.
Particles can also get attached to clothing (also known as take-home exposure) which can expose one’s family and can also cause health issues such as allergies, congenital anomalies (such as heart defects, hypospadias, eye defects) and other genetic abnormalities. It is also essential to note that exposure to some materials (including take-home exposure) can cause some cancers (including some early childhood cancers).
Along with health issues, poor air quality can create other safety hazards for your employees. Shops can build up fumes and volatile dust which can create a fire hazard. According to OSHA, an explosion of combustible dust particles (also known as deflagration) can occur when the Dust Explosion Pentagon is completed
How is the Dust Explosion Pentagon formed?
The Dust Explosion Pentagon can occur when there is oxygen, heat, fuel (dust), dispersion and confinement. Removing only one aspect of the Pentagon assures that an explosion will not occur, which means having an excellent dust collection system will help prevent an explosion. Other safety hazards related to dust build-up are slips and falls. When our dust collection system picks up dust and other particles it protects your employees from hurting themselves.
Spray Tech/Junair offers a quality dust collector that will help you protect your business, your employees, and their families from harm.
We go above and beyond traditional dust collection to make sure you get a bigger bang for your buck. Spray Tech/Junair dust collecting system is constructed with 12 gauge steel. Our dust collection system includes a reverse pulse plumbing standard, which helps collect the extra coating material. Also included is our smart pulsing technology, which allows it to save energy by only pulsing when needed. Our system also maintains the appropriate amount of static pressure which helps to decrease the amount of noise the machine makes and helps to prolong the life of the filter.
Cylindrical cartridge filters
The dust collecting system also includes six cylindrical cartridge filters which are 99% effective with particles as small as 0.5 microns. Our systems also capture overspray from the powder delivery system (which can be saved and reused). A magnehelic gauge comes included as well, to inform you when the filters need replacement. Also included are an aluminum 5 HP backward inclined blower, ¼” steel air pressure reservoir, and dust storage drawers. We also include our ETL-listed LED light fixtures. Another feature is our smart shut-down function, which will steadily decrease the amount of static pressure to prevent the discharge of dust. This feature also helps the dust collecting system sustain the absolute static pressure to ensure the system is ready to re-start with immediate performance at any time.
Dust Collection Module DCM4500
Spray Tech/Juniar also offers a self-contained unit which means there is no need to run an exhaustion system with it. The DCM4500 comes standard with a 3-phase, 5 HP cooling fan blower and an aluminum backward 5 HP blower. It also offers a pressure reservoir, six standard filters, and an electric over pneumatic blowdown valves. The same standard options apply as with the standard dust collection modules, as well as the same upgrade packages. Additionally, the DCM4500 offers a louvers and safety filter upgrade as well.
Upgrade package options
The control panel on your dust collection system can be upgraded to our 6th generation touch-screen control panel, in which you will receive customized software that allows you to control every aspect of your booth including multiple variable frequency drives (VFDs). You can also control each of your finishing processes and modify your dust collection system to the type of dust you are collecting.
Another available upgrade is our patented industrial air movement system, also known as our QADs™ Auxiliary Air Movement System. Our QADs™ system helps to heat the air needed to cure the vehicles. Air encompasses the entire vehicle, including the lower panels. We offer different configurations, so you get what you need for your shop. The QADs™ system can interface with pre-existing air makeup systems.
Climate Control Panels
The climate control panel is a critical upgrade for your collection system. Climate control panels are direct-fired gas furnaces, which convert 98% of its fuel into heat. Panels also offer an 80% re-circulated air system to help increase efficiency. Climate control panels have VFDs, which help to keep your air pressure balanced, to extend the life of the exhaust motor, and to help save you money. They can be installed inside or outside, and they have either a horizontal or vertical configuration. They have single, customizable, two speed or multi-speed fan controls for your application. Included is a manifold mounted gas pressure gauge. Climate control panels have built-in electrical disconnects and temperature sensors. All of our components are UL listed.
Considerations when buying a dust collection system
There are many things to take into account when considering a dust collection system, such as:
- Type of work environment
- How powerful a system is needed?
- How loud will the new system be?
- Is the installation process smooth?
Your manufacturer’s preferences
- Does the manufacturer meet your shop’s needs?
- Do the parts they manufacture follow proper safety guidelines and OSHA regulations?
- Will the design of the dust collection system fit into my shop?
- Will there be any support after buying the dust collection system?
- Will replacement parts be available if something breaks?
No matter what type of environment you work in, whether it is a woodshop, an industrial setting, manufacturing, automotive field, or aerospace, Spray Tech/Junair offers a wide variety of dust collection systems.
